Completed his university studies at the University of P.R., Río Piedras campus and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biology, Cum Laude.

Later she entered the UCCEM, known as the School of Medicine of Bayamón, where she graduated in 1987.

Completed her Residency in Internal Medicine and a subspecialty in Rheumatology at the Municipal Hospital of San Juan of the PR Medical Center.

She has chaired the Association of Rheumatologists of PR and belonged to the executive committee of the Association of Rheumatologists for the past nine years.

Founding member and part of the executive committee of Fundación FER. 

Active member of the American College of Rheumatologists (ACR), of the International Society of Densitometry (ISCD) among other medical organizations.

In 2007, when she was president of the Rheumatologists Association of PR, she undertook the task of organizing the First Congress of Rheumatic Diseases in PR (PRAIM), an event attended by distinguished rheumatologists from Europe, South America, the US and the Caribbean. 

 She is currently part of the PRAIM's board of directors and the Scientific Committee of this event.

In 2010, she published her first book "A New Life with Rheumatoid Arthritis" aimed at patients with RA and their families; said book was one of the "top tens of Borders store" in 2010. 

Firmly believer that patient education is an integral part of the treatment, therefore "we must educate the patients and give them tools so that they can understand their illnesses and participate actively in their treatment.

 Has always had a particular interest in the education of both patients and medical colleagues, therefore he actively participates by presenting lectures on rheumatology topics for doctors and the general public. 

She has also written about various medical topics in magazines for the general public as well as in medical journals. In the same, way she has participated in radio and TV programs where topics on rheumatic conditions are addressed.

Actually dedicated to her private practice in the city of Caguas and constantly  participates in clinical research studies.
