Biography

  • Degree in Medicine from the Central University of the Caribbean in Puerto Rico in 1994.
  • Specialty in Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida in 1997.
  • Subspecialty in Rheumatology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, 1999.
  • He has worked in private practice in the state of Florida and then as a faculty member at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia where he obtained an Assistant Professor degree in 2000.
  • In 2003, he returned to Puerto Rico where he began his private practice in San Juan and obtained a degree as Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine of Ponce, where he worked part-time until 2004.
  • Then he obtained the degree of Assistant Professor of the School of Medicine of the Medical Sciences Campus of the University of Puerto Rico.
  • Dr. Soto Raíces,  has to his credit multiple writings for public announcements directed to the public, as well as publications for physicians.
  • He has contributed as an author for medical textbooks in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
  • He is a consultant and speaker for several pharmaceutical companies and has been a speaker in multiple Congresses and Medical activities.
  • Was President of the Rheumatologists Association of PR.
  • Founding Member,  first and actual President of Fundación Puertorriqueña de Enfermedades Reumáticas, (FER).
  • Currently, he is Medical Director of Mindful Rheumatix and the Mindful Medical Research Clinical Research Center.
